The aerospace community is striving to reduce the emissions of new aircraft in accordance with the objectives set by the Clean Sky 2 program. To fulfill these goals, unconventional tail configurations must be explored. The MONNALISA project delivered an open-access multifidelity database of the nonlinear aerodynamic characteristics of unconventional tails. Geometries are parameterized considering the aspect ratio, the taper ratio, and the sweep and dihedral angles. Additional degrees of freedom are the angle of attack and the deflection of a control surface at the trailing edge. The database integrates experimental data with simulations of variable fidelity. Data from different sources are coherent in the linear aerodynamic regime, whereas discrepancies appear at a high angle of attack or for a large deflection of the control surface due to flow separation and nonlinearities related to stall.
