LSO 2

Light Sheet Optics (LSO)

Our modular LSO is designed to transform high-energy laser beams into light sheets with well-defined geometrical characteristics and intensity distributions. Compatible with high-power Nd:YAG lasers, this unit features a special collimator design that allows for precise focusing of the light sheet thickness. To ensure seamless integration into automated setups, we offer options to fully motorize the focus adjustment.

Our Mini LSO offers the same precision in a compact footprint, mounting directly onto Nd:YAG lasers or our mirror arm.

Specifications:
  • Precision Focusing: Achieves a light sheet thickness of less than 1 mm with an adjustable focal distance between 100 mm and 3000 mm.
  • Variable Divergence: Includes a cylindrical lens kit to perfectly adapt the opening angle and energy density to your flow.
  • Parallel Illumination: Can be equipped with an optional parallel mount to generate a 50 mm high light sheet for long-distance measurements.
  • High Energy Threshold: Features anti-reflection coated lenses rated for high energy densities.

Articulated Mirror arm

The articulated mirror arm is an integrated light guide that safely delivers high-power laser pulses to your experiment. With 6 degrees of freedom and a fully deployed length of 2 meters, it provides highly stable optical alignment while maintaining safe beam containment between the laser and your setup. For advanced traversing tasks, the arm's movement will follow the light sheet optic.

Endoscope 90deg

Endoscopic Light Sheet Optics

Designed for challenging optical access, our Endoscopic LSO allows you to bring the light sheet directly into closed casings or internal flows with minimal disturbance. With a slender 12 mm rod diameter and variable lengths up to 300 mm, it is capable of handling high-energy pulses from Nd:YAG lasers. Like our other optics, the focus and positioning can be motorized for precise internal adjustments without removing the probe.

  • Minimally Invasive: A small 12 mm diameter rod minimizes flow disturbance while delivering high-power illumination.
  • High Power Capability: Compatible with high power lasers, generating a light sheet thickness between 0.5 and 1 mm.
  • Flexible Redirection: Optionally available with a prism to redirect the light sheet by up to 90 degrees.
  • Pressure Ready: Available in an enclosed version suitable for use in liquids and pressurized fluid environments.
  • Remote Focus: Options available for motorized focal distance adjustment to tune the sheet thickness inside the closed measurement environment.
